Recent power loss, Tripped breaker, Loose power cord connection, Faulty outlet or extension cord

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Confirm the grill is cool enough to handle before restarting after a power event.

  • 1. Verify power source:
    • Check that the outlet has power by plugging in another device.
    • Reset any tripped GFCI or breaker.
  • 2. Inspect power cord:
    • Ensure the Traeger power cord is fully inserted into the outlet and not damaged.
    • Avoid using long or undersized extension cords.
  • 3. Clear ErP:
    • Turn the grill OFF using the power switch.
    • Unplug for 1–2 minutes, then plug back in and power ON.
  • 4. Safe restart:
    • If there are unburned pellets in the firepot, remove grates and drip tray and vacuum out excess pellets to prevent a flare-up.
    • Perform a normal startup sequence.
