How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Confirm the grill is cool enough to handle before restarting after a power event.
- 1. Verify power source:
- Check that the outlet has power by plugging in another device.
- Reset any tripped GFCI or breaker.
- 2. Inspect power cord:
- Ensure the Traeger power cord is fully inserted into the outlet and not damaged.
- Avoid using long or undersized extension cords.
- 3. Clear ErP:
- Turn the grill OFF using the power switch.
- Unplug for 1–2 minutes, then plug back in and power ON.
- 4. Safe restart:
- If there are unburned pellets in the firepot, remove grates and drip tray and vacuum out excess pellets to prevent a flare-up.
- Perform a normal startup sequence.
