Possible Causes
Failed induction fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Loose fan wiring, Controller fan driver failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill before accessing the fan area. Ensure the grill is cool.
- 1. Inspect fan operation:
- Remove the hopper side panel to expose the induction fan.
- Plug in the grill and start ignition.
- Observe whether the fan spins; if not, proceed to testing.
- 2. Check for obstructions:
- Look for debris, grease, or wires blocking the fan blades.
- Clear any obstructions and spin the fan by hand to ensure it moves freely.
- 3. Test fan voltage:
- With the grill calling for fan operation, measure voltage at the fan connector (typically 120VAC or 240VAC depending on region).
- If correct voltage is present but the fan does not spin, replace the induction fan assembly.
- If no voltage, the controller or wiring is suspect.
- 4. Replace fan:
- Disconnect the fan wires and remove mounting screws.
- Install the new Traeger induction fan, ensuring airflow direction matches the original.
