How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill before handling the sensor wiring or controller.
- 1. Verify correct part:
- Confirm that the installed RTD is an OEM Traeger sensor compatible with your model.
- 2. Inspect and re-seat connector:
- Locate the RTD plug at the back of the controller.
- Unplug and reinsert it several times to ensure a solid connection.
- 3. Check cable and probe:
- Inspect the probe inside the cook chamber for physical damage.
- Check the cable for cuts, burns, or pinch points.
- 4. Replace RTD if suspect:
- Remove the mounting screw holding the RTD to the barrel.
- Install a new RTD temperature probe and route the cable properly.
