Possible Causes
Pellet bridging in hopper, Wet pellets causing poor combustion, Weak induction fan, Intermittent auger motor operation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the grill OFF and allow it to cool before inspecting the firepot or hopper.
- 1. Check pellets:
- Open the hopper and stir pellets to break up any bridging.
- Replace any damp or crumbly pellets with fresh ones.
- 2. Clean firepot and barrel:
- Remove interior components and vacuum ash from the firepot.
- Excess ash can smother the flame during low-temp cooks.
- 3. Observe auger feed:
- Start the grill and watch the firepot to confirm pellets drop at regular intervals.
- If feed is sporadic or stops, test the auger motor and wiring.
- 4. Verify fan performance:
- Ensure the induction fan runs continuously during the cook.
- Replace the fan if it stops intermittently or runs very weakly.
