Cold ambient conditions, Windy environment, Wet or low-BTU pellets, Weak induction fan or partially blocked firepot
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the grill to cool before performing internal cleaning.
- 1. Environmental factors:
- Use an insulated grill blanket in cold or windy weather.
- Position the grill out of direct wind if possible.
- 2. Pellet quality:
- Empty hopper and refill with fresh, dry Traeger pellets.
- Avoid mixing brands or using soft, crumbly pellets.
- 3. Clean firepot and airflow path:
- Vacuum ash from the firepot and barrel.
- Ensure the induction fan intake and exhaust paths are not blocked by grease or debris.
- 4. Check fan and auger:
- Confirm the fan runs strongly and continuously.
- Verify pellets are feeding regularly; if feed is sparse, test the auger motor.
