How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill before placing hands near moving parts.
- 1. Isolate noise source:
- Listen carefully to determine if noise comes from auger or fan.
- 2. Inspect fan:
- Remove hopper side panel and check that fan blades are not hitting wires or housing.
- Tighten fan mounting screws.
- 3. Inspect auger:
- Empty hopper and look for screws, stones, or other objects mixed with pellets.
- If noise persists, remove auger motor and shaft to check for damage or foreign objects.
- 4. Lubrication (if allowed):
- Lightly lubricate auger motor shaft bearings with a high-temp-safe lubricant if recommended by Traeger; avoid getting lubricant near pellets.
