Possible Causes
Defective meat probe, Damaged probe cable or plug, Contaminated probe jack on control panel, Faulty probe input circuit on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the grill is stable and cool enough to handle the probe safely. Avoid touching hot grates or metal surfaces.
Steps to address ERR PROBE:
- 1. Inspect the meat probe: Check the stainless probe tip and cable for kinks, cuts, or melted insulation. Replace the probe if damaged.
- 2. Clean the probe jack: With the grill OFF, use a dry cotton swab to gently clean the probe jack on the control panel. Grease or moisture can interfere with the connection.
- 3. Test with a known-good probe: If available, plug in a second Twin Eagles-compatible meat probe. If the new probe works, the original probe is faulty.
- 4. Check cable routing: Ensure the probe cable is not pinched in the lid or draped directly over hot surfaces, which can cause internal shorts.
- 5. Control board evaluation: If multiple known-good probes all show ERR PROBE, the probe input on the control board may be defective and will likely require board replacement by a technician.
