Possible Causes
Worn or damaged lid gasket, Warped lid or door, Loose cabinet fasteners, Missing or damaged internal seals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use heat-resistant gloves when checking for leaks on a hot grill. Avoid placing hands directly in smoke paths.
Steps to reduce smoke leaks:
- 1. Inspect gaskets: With the grill cool, examine lid and door gaskets for cracks, flattening, or missing sections. Replace as needed.
- 2. Check lid alignment: Close the lid and look for uneven gaps. Adjust hinges or latch hardware to improve contact.
- 3. Tighten cabinet screws: Snug any loose fasteners around the cook chamber and exhaust to reduce seam gaps.
- 4. Replace internal seals: If your Twin Eagles model uses internal high-temp seals around the firebox or exhaust, inspect and replace any that are deteriorated.
