Possible Causes
Clogged grease channel or drain tube, Warped or misaligned drip tray, Overfilled grease pan, Heavy grease buildup on internal surfaces
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the grill to cool completely. Grease can remain hot and flammable for some time after cooking.
Steps to correct grease leaks:
- 1. Remove and clean drip tray: Take out the drip tray and scrape off heavy grease. Wash with hot, soapy water and dry thoroughly.
- 2. Clear drain channel/tube: Use a flexible brush or pipe cleaner to clear the grease channel and drain tube leading to the bucket or pan.
- 3. Empty grease bucket/pan: Ensure the grease receptacle is not full and is properly positioned under the drain outlet.
- 4. Check tray alignment: Reinstall the drip tray, ensuring it slopes correctly toward the drain and sits flat on its supports.
