Auger makes loud grinding or squealing noises during operation.

Safety first: Unplug the grill and let it cool. Wear gloves when handling the auger.

• Empty hopper: Remove pellets from the hopper and vacuum out dust.
• Access auger: Remove the hopper guard and auger motor mounting bolts. Slide the motor off the auger shaft.
• Remove and inspect auger: Pull the auger from the tube. Clean off compacted dust and inspect for bends or damage.
• Clean auger tube: Use a brush and vacuum to remove all pellet dust from the tube.
• Lubricate bushings (if allowed): Lightly lubricate external bushings with a high-temperature, food-safe lubricant if Weber’s manual permits. Do not lubricate inside the firebox area.
• Inspect motor gearbox: Rotate the motor shaft by hand; if it feels rough or has excessive play, replace the auger motor assembly.
• Reassemble and test: Reinstall the auger and motor, refill with pellets, and run a test cycle to confirm noise reduction.
