Possible Causes
Failed Wi-Fi module on control board, Corrupted firmware, Poor signal strength or interference, Loose antenna or module connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Only low-voltage electronics are involved, but unplug the grill before removing the control panel.
- Power cycle: Turn the grill off, unplug it for 2–3 minutes, then plug back in and restart. This can clear transient communication faults.
- Check Wi-Fi environment: Ensure your router is within range, broadcasting 2.4 GHz (if required by your Weber model), and that the network password is correct in the app.
- Update firmware: If the grill connects intermittently, use the Weber app to check for firmware updates and apply them following on-screen instructions.
- Inspect antenna and connectors: Remove the control panel cover. Verify that any external antenna cable is firmly attached and that the Wi-Fi module (if separate) is fully seated on the control board.
- Factory reset (if supported): Follow the user manual to perform a factory reset of the controller, then re-pair the grill with the app.
- If E7 persists: The Wi-Fi module or entire control board may need replacement. Replace with a Weber-approved control board assembly to maintain compatibility.
