Possible Causes

Failed control panel keypad, Moisture intrusion into control panel, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board, Faulty microcontroller on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the grill before opening the control panel. Avoid using sharp tools near ribbon cables.

  • Dry the panel: If the grill was recently exposed to heavy rain, move it to a dry area and allow the control panel to dry for several hours. Do not use heat guns directly on the panel.
  • Power reset: Unplug the grill for several minutes, then reconnect and test the buttons or dial.
  • Inspect connections: Remove the control panel cover. Locate the ribbon cable or harness connecting the keypad/display to the main control board. Reseat the connector on both ends.
  • Check for corrosion: Look for green/white corrosion on connectors or water marks inside the panel. If present, the keypad or board may be permanently damaged.
  • Replace keypad or control board: If specific buttons never respond or the dial skips, replace the front keypad/overlay assembly (if separate). If the entire UI is unresponsive despite good connections, replace the control board assembly.
