Possible Causes
Clogged grease channel, Full or missing grease bucket, Warped or misaligned drip tray, Excess grease buildup in cookbox
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the grill to cool completely. Grease can be extremely hot and flammable.
- Inspect grease bucket: Ensure the bucket is installed correctly and not full. Empty and clean if necessary.
- Clean grease channel: Remove grates and drip tray. Scrape grease from the channel leading to the bucket and clear any blockages.
- Clean drip tray and cookbox: Scrape and remove built-up grease from the drip tray and bottom of the cookbox. Dispose of grease safely.
- Check drip tray alignment: Reinstall the drip tray so it slopes correctly toward the grease channel and does not rock or bind.
- Monitor future cooks: Avoid cooking extremely fatty foods at very low temperatures for long periods without periodic cleaning.
