Controller temperature reading is significantly different from independent grill thermometer

Possible Causes
RTD probe aging or contamination, Controller calibration offset incorrect, Probe placement differences between devices
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the grill to cool before cleaning or replacing the RTD probe.
- Clean RTD probe: Gently clean the cook chamber probe to remove buildup that can insulate it.
- Compare at stable temp: Heat the grill to a moderate temperature (e.g., 250°F) and allow it to stabilize for 20–30 minutes before comparing readings.
- Check probe placement: Ensure your independent thermometer is placed near the RTD probe location for a fair comparison.
- Adjust calibration (if available): If the controller supports calibration offsets, adjust according to Yoder's instructions to match the reference thermometer.
- Replace RTD if needed: If large discrepancies persist, replace the RTD temperature probe.
