Possible Causes
Auger motor not receiving power, Auger motor internal failure, Loose auger motor connector, Jammed auger shaft
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill and allow it to cool before accessing the auger motor or hopper interior.
- Check motor connector: Remove the access panel near the auger motor and verify the motor plug is fully seated in the wiring harness.
- Listen for motor operation: With the panel off and grill started, listen for the auger motor cycling on and off. If silent, unplug and continue diagnosis.
- Test motor rotation: With power disconnected, attempt to rotate the auger shaft at the motor coupling. If seized, remove the auger and clear any jam as described in auger jam procedures.
- Replace auger motor: If the auger turns freely by hand but does not run when powered, replace the auger motor with a Yoder-compatible unit.
- Controller check: If a new motor does not run and wiring is intact, the auger output on the controller may be defective and the main control board should be replaced.
