Possible Causes

Pellet hopper empty, Pellets bridged above auger intake, Excessive pellet dust causing feed issues, Auger not primed after cleaning

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Use heat-resistant gloves when working near a hot hopper or cook chamber.

  • Check pellet level: Open the hopper lid and verify there are sufficient pellets. Refill with high-quality, dry hardwood pellets if low.
  • Break pellet bridges: If pellets are present but not feeding, stir the pellets by hand to break any bridges or voids above the auger intake.
  • Remove fines: If there is a large amount of sawdust at the bottom of the hopper, scoop or vacuum it out. Excess fines can restrict pellet flow.
  • Prime the auger: If the hopper was run empty, turn the grill off, then back on, and run the auger prime function (if available) or start the grill with the firepot empty and lid open until pellets begin dropping steadily into the firepot. Then restart the normal ignition sequence.
  • Monitor temperature: Once pellets are feeding properly, close the lid and allow the grill to return to set temperature.
