Possible Causes

Food probe not fully inserted into jack, Damaged or cut food probe cable, Probe tip shorted by moisture, Failed probe input on controller

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Keep hands clear of hot grates and food when adjusting the probe.

  • Check connection: Ensure the Yoder food probe is fully inserted into the probe jack on the controller. Remove and reinsert firmly.
  • Inspect cable: Look along the entire length of the probe cable for cuts, kinks, or melted sections. Replace the probe if any damage is found.
  • Clean probe tip: Wipe the metal probe tip with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Moisture or heavy grease can cause erratic readings.
  • Test with another probe: If available, plug in a known-good Yoder-compatible food probe. If the error clears, the original probe is faulty. If the error persists, the controller probe input may be defective and the controller should be replaced.
