Possible Causes
RTD probe disconnected, RTD probe damaged by cleaning or impact, RTD wiring harness loose at controller, Controller sensor circuit failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill and allow it to cool before touching the RTD probe or opening the controller housing.
- Inspect RTD probe: Locate the cook chamber RTD probe on the side wall. Ensure it is firmly mounted and not bent or broken. Replace if physically damaged.
- Check connections: Trace the RTD cable to the controller and verify the connector is fully seated. Disconnect and reconnect to ensure a solid connection.
- Look for damage: Inspect the cable for cuts, melted spots, or pinch points. Replace the RTD assembly if any damage is found.
- Controller test: If a new RTD probe does not clear the error, the sensor input on the controller is likely faulty and the main control board should be replaced.
