Possible Causes
Hopper lid left open, High ambient humidity, Water intrusion into hopper, Storing pellets outdoors without protection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not attempt to run the grill with wet pellets; this can jam the auger.
- Remove wet pellets: Scoop out all pellets from the hopper and auger intake. Vacuum remaining dust and fragments.
- Inspect auger tube: Remove the auger if necessary to clear any swollen pellets from the tube.
- Dry hopper: Wipe the hopper interior dry and allow it to air out.
- Use dry storage: Store pellets in sealed containers indoors or in a dry area. Keep the hopper lid closed when not adding pellets.
- Monitor for jams: After refilling with dry pellets, watch the auger for smooth operation during the next cook.
