Possible Causes
Defective power supply section on control board, Loose AC power cord connection, Tripped internal fuse on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill before inspecting the power system. Do not work on live AC circuits unless you are qualified.
Steps to troubleshoot:
- Verify outlet: Plug another appliance into the same outlet to confirm it has proper power. Avoid using long or undersized extension cords.
- Inspect power cord: Check the Z Grills power cord for cuts, burns, or loose connections at the grill entry point. Replace the cord if damaged.
- Check internal fuse: Remove the control panel and locate any inline or board-mounted fuses. With power disconnected, remove and visually inspect the fuse. Replace only with the same type and rating.
- Look for burned components: Inspect the control board for burnt spots, bulging capacitors, or melted connectors, especially near the AC input.
- Measure output (advanced): If you are comfortable and qualified, plug in the grill and carefully measure DC output from the control board to the fan or auger connectors. If there is no output and the fuse is good, the board is likely faulty.
- Replace control board: Disconnect all harnesses, remove mounting screws, and install a new Z Grills control board. Reconnect all components and secure wiring.
- Test: Restore power and verify that the fan and auger operate normally and that Er6 no longer appears.
