Possible Causes
Faulty power outlet or tripped breaker, Damaged Z Grills power cord, Loose internal power connection at control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Before opening any panels, unplug the grill. Do not work on live AC circuits unless you are qualified.
Steps to troubleshoot:
- Check outlet and breaker: Test the outlet with another device. Reset any tripped breakers or GFCI outlets.
- Inspect power cord: Examine the entire length of the Z Grills power cord for cuts, burns, or crushed sections. Replace if damaged.
- Verify grill switch (if equipped): Some models have a rocker switch in addition to the control knob. Ensure it is in the ON position.
- Inspect internal connections: Remove the control panel and confirm the main AC input wires are firmly attached to the control board terminals and any inline connectors.
- Fuse check: Look for an inline or board-mounted fuse near the AC input. With power disconnected, remove and inspect the fuse. Replace with the same rating if blown.
- Replace control board if dead: If power is present at the board input but there are no lights or display, replace the control board.
