Possible Causes
Damaged or kinked meat probe cable, Probe tip contaminated with moisture or grease, Faulty meat probe jack on control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not touch hot probes with bare hands; allow them to cool.
Steps to correct:
- Inspect probe: Check the meat probe cable for cuts, kinks, or melted sections.
- Clean tip: Wipe the probe tip with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Test in boiling water: Place the probe tip in boiling water; it should read close to 212°F (100°C). If not, the probe is likely faulty.
- Try another jack (if available): Plug the probe into a different meat probe port to rule out a bad jack.
- Replace probe: If readings remain inaccurate, replace the Z Grills meat probe with a compatible part.
