Steps to address noise:
- Empty hopper: Remove all pellets and vacuum out fines.
- Disassemble auger: Remove access panel, disconnect auger motor, and pull the auger shaft out from the hopper side.
- Inspect for damage: Look for bent sections, scoring, or foreign objects (screws, stones, etc.) in the auger tube.
- Check gearbox: Rotate the auger motor shaft by hand. If it feels rough, gritty, or has excessive play, replace the auger motor with gearbox.
- Reassemble: Reinstall the auger, ensuring it spins freely in the tube, then reinstall the motor and panels.
