Grill left uncovered in rain, Damaged or missing hopper lid seal, Cracked control box housing

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the grill and do not operate it until all moisture is removed and components are dry.

Steps to recover:

  • Remove wet pellets: Empty the hopper completely and vacuum out all swollen pellets and sawdust.
  • Dry auger tube: Remove the auger if necessary and dry the tube thoroughly.
  • Dry control box: Open the control box and gently dry components with a fan or low heat (no direct high heat). Do not use the grill until all moisture is gone.
  • Inspect seals: Check the hopper lid seal and control box gaskets. Replace any damaged hopper lid gasket or control box seal.
  • Use a cover: Protect the grill with a fitted Z Grills grill cover when not in use.
