Possible Causes
Stuck internal bypass valve, Failed automatic bypass actuator, Scale or debris in bypass assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off pump and power, and allow the heater to cool before opening the water manifold.
- Inspect external bypass: If an external bypass is installed, ensure it is adjusted per Aquacomfort guidelines so adequate flow passes through the heater.
- Access internal bypass: Remove the manifold cover to access the internal bypass valve assembly. Look for broken springs, stuck plungers, or debris.
- Clean or replace: Clean any debris and ensure the valve moves freely. If components are damaged or heavily scaled, replace the bypass assembly.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall gaskets and covers carefully to prevent leaks. Restore flow and check for normal operation.
