Possible Causes
Weak spark from ignition electrode, Dirty flame sensor, Low gas pressure, Faulty gas valve coil
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off gas and power. Do not repeatedly reset a heater that fails to ignite; unburned gas can accumulate.
- Inspect ignition electrode and flame sensor: Clean both rods with fine emery cloth and ensure correct gap and positioning per AstralPool specifications.
- Check ground connections: Ensure the burner tray and ignition module have solid ground connections to the chassis; poor grounding can weaken spark and flame sensing.
- Verify gas supply: Confirm gas valves are open and that other gas appliances function normally.
If F3 persists, a technician should test the gas valve, ignition module, and measure gas pressure during ignition.
