How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before touching the fan assembly.
- Check fan intake: Inspect the air intake grill for leaves, plastic, or other obstructions. Clear any debris.
- Spin fan by hand: With power off and access panel removed, gently spin the fan wheel. It should rotate freely without grinding. A stiff or seized fan indicates motor or bearing failure.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the fan motor plug is fully seated on the control board and that no wires are burnt.
If the fan does not run when a call for heat is present, the fan motor or control board relay likely needs replacement by a technician.
