Possible Causes
Thermostat not calling for heat, Faulty water temperature sensor reading above setpoint, Stuck relay on control board, External controller not enabling heater
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before accessing control wiring.
- Confirm call for heat: Ensure the set temperature is higher than the actual water temperature and that the correct mode (pool/spa) is selected.
- Check external controls: If using automation, verify that the heater is enabled in the controller and that the heater input is being closed when heat is requested.
- Observe temperature reading: If the displayed water temperature is much higher than actual, the sensor may be faulty and preventing ignition.
If the fan runs continuously without ignition, the control board may require diagnosis and possible replacement.
