Heater intermittently shuts down with E16; may coincide with unstable mains power
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Danger: High voltage present. Only perform basic visual checks unless qualified.
- Measure supply voltage: Using a multimeter (if you are trained), verify that the supply voltage at the heater terminals is within the range specified on the BWT nameplate.
- Inspect connections: With power off, tighten all line and neutral terminal screws. Look for discoloration or melted insulation indicating overheating.
- Check wire size and length: Ensure the supply cable gauge and run length meet BWT installation requirements to avoid excessive voltage drop.
- Monitor grid stability: If voltage fluctuations are frequent, consider installing a voltage stabilizer or consult an electrician.
If E16 continues with correct and stable supply voltage, the internal power supply or sensing circuit on the PCB may be faulty and require board replacement.
