Possible Causes

Incorrect sensor type fitted to Certikin heater, Sensor resistance out of range due to age, Poor electrical connection causing intermittent readings, Control PCB calibration fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate power before testing sensors.

  • Compare temperatures: Measure pool water with an independent thermometer and compare to the heater display.
  • Check sensor connections: Tighten terminal screws or reseat plugs for all temperature sensors on the control PCB.
  • Visual sensor check: Inspect sensors for swelling, cracking, or corrosion at the probe end.
  • Reset controller: Power cycle the heater and, if available, perform a factory reset of the Certikin controller following the manual.

If E2 persists, the sensor(s) should be tested with a multimeter and replaced with genuine Certikin parts if out of specification.
