Possible Causes
Internal failure of Elecro control PCB, Corrupted firmware or memory error, Shorted low-voltage circuit, Moisture ingress on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel or PCB cover.
- Power cycle: Turn off the heater at the isolator for at least 2 minutes, then restore power. Observe if E05 clears temporarily.
- Inspect for moisture: Remove the front cover and inspect the control PCB for signs of condensation, water tracks, or corrosion. Dry gently with a hair dryer on low heat (no open flame) and improve enclosure sealing if moisture is present.
- Check low-voltage wiring: Inspect all low-voltage harnesses (sensor leads, flow switch, thermostat connections) for shorts or crushed cables that could overload the PCB.
- Factory reset (if supported): Follow the Elecro manual to perform a control reset or parameter reset, if available.
If E05 persists, the control PCB is likely defective and should be replaced with the correct Elecro control board for your model.
