Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Earth leakage faults can be dangerous. Isolate power and do not operate the heater until the fault is identified.
- Check for visible water ingress: Inspect the heater terminal area and element gland seals for signs of leaks or condensation.
- Inspect cables: Look for nicks or crushed sections in the element leads and internal wiring that could contact the metal chassis.
- Insulation resistance test (professional): Have a qualified technician perform a megger test between each element terminal and earth. Low insulation resistance indicates a failing element.
- Verify RCD/GFCI: Test the upstream RCD/GFCI using its test button. Replace if it trips erratically without actual leakage.
Most persistent E07 faults are due to a failing heating element that must be replaced with a genuine Elecro titanium element assembly.
