Possible Causes
One heating element in a multi-element bank open circuit, Blown internal element fuse (if fitted), Loose connection on one element terminal, Faulty current sensing circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and lock out the breaker before opening the heater.
- Visual inspection of elements: Remove the cover and inspect each element terminal for discoloration, burning, or loose nuts. Tighten as required.
- Continuity test: With wires removed from each element, measure resistance across each element with a multimeter. An infinite reading indicates an open element.
- Check internal fuses: Some Elecro models use cartridge fuses for each element bank. Test and replace any blown fuses with the exact type and rating.
- Reassemble and test: After correcting any open circuits, restore power and check if E08 clears.
If all elements test good and wiring is sound, the current sensing circuit on the control PCB may be defective.
