Possible Causes
Faulty Elecro digital thermostat module, Damaged keypad membrane or ribbon cable, Loose connector between keypad and main PCB, Liquid ingress into control fascia
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power before removing the front control fascia.
- Inspect keypad: Check the front panel for cracks or signs of water ingress. Sticky or unresponsive buttons suggest membrane failure.
- Check ribbon cable: Remove the fascia and inspect the ribbon cable from the keypad to the control PCB. Ensure it is fully seated and not kinked or damaged.
- Dry moisture: If condensation or splashes are present, gently dry the area and improve weather protection around the heater.
- Test operation: After reseating connectors and drying, restore power and test button response.
If E09 persists and buttons remain erratic, replace the Elecro digital thermostat/keypad assembly.
