Possible Causes
Elecro heater plumbed backwards (inlet/outlet reversed), Flow switch installed in wrong orientation, Bypass plumbing sending flow opposite to arrow on heater body, Debris jamming flow sensor in partially open position
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and stop the circulation pump before altering any plumbing.
- Check flow direction: Locate the flow direction arrows on the Elecro heater body and ensure the pool water enters the marked inlet and exits the outlet.
- Inspect flow switch orientation: Confirm the flow switch body arrow matches the actual flow direction. Reinstall correctly if reversed.
- Review bypass configuration: If a bypass loop is installed, ensure valves are set so that adequate flow passes through the heater in the correct direction.
- Clean flow sensor: Remove the flow switch and check for debris or scale preventing full movement. Clean and reinstall with new seals if necessary.
Once plumbing and sensor orientation are corrected, clear the error by power cycling the heater.
