Possible Causes

Shorted heating element, Shorted wiring between contactor and element bank, Internal PCB short, Incorrectly sized or bypassed external breaker

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset breakers; a short circuit can cause fire. Isolate power and investigate before re-energizing.

  • Inspect for obvious damage: Remove the cover and look for burnt wiring, melted insulation, or charred PCB areas.
  • Element isolation test: Disconnect each element lead and test resistance to earth and between terminals. A very low resistance or continuity to earth indicates a shorted element.
  • Check cable routing: Ensure high-current cables are not pinched under covers or against sharp metal edges.
  • Verify breaker rating: Confirm the external breaker and cable size match Elecro’s installation requirements.

Replace any shorted elements or damaged wiring. If the PCB is visibly damaged, it must be replaced. This repair is best handled by a qualified technician.
