Possible Causes

Loose unions on Elecro inlet/outlet, Perished O-rings or gaskets in manifold, Cracked flow tube due to freezing, Leaking sensor or element gland

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and stop the pump before working on any leaks. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.

  • Identify leak source: Dry the area and observe where water first appears: unions, sensor ports, element glands, or seams.
  • Tighten unions: Hand-tighten the plastic unions on the inlet and outlet. Do not overtighten as this can crack fittings.
  • Replace O-rings: If unions or sensor plugs are leaking, remove them, inspect O-rings, and replace with Elecro-specified seals. Lubricate lightly with silicone grease.
  • Check for freeze damage: Look for cracks in the flow tube or manifold. Cracked components must be replaced; repair is not reliable.

Do not operate the heater with active leaks, as this can cause electrical hazards and internal corrosion.
