Possible Causes
One or more Elecro heating elements failed, Incorrect heater sizing for pool volume, Excessive heat loss from uncovered pool, Low supply voltage reducing element output
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power before testing elements or opening the heater.
- Check actual temperature rise: Measure inlet and outlet water temperature at the heater while running. A very small rise suggests reduced output.
- Test each element: With power off and wires removed, measure resistance of each element and compare to Elecro specifications. Replace any open or significantly off-value elements.
- Verify supply voltage: Have an electrician confirm that the heater is receiving its rated voltage under load.
- Reduce heat loss: Use a pool cover and check for excessive evaporation or wind exposure that can overwhelm heater capacity.
If elements and voltage are correct but heating is still inadequate, the heater may be undersized for the pool and climate.
