Possible Causes
Clogged inlet screen to Fafco manifold, Debris lodged in panel headers, Collapsed flexible hose, Air lock in vertical riser
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off pumps and relieve pressure before disconnecting any hoses or unions.
- Check pressure differential: Compare pressure before and after the solar loop using gauges if available. A large drop indicates restriction.
- Inspect inlet screen: Locate and clean any strainers or screens at the solar feed to the Fafco manifold.
- Check hoses: Look for kinks or flattened sections in flexible hoses to and from the roof. Replace damaged hose.
- Bleed air: Ensure the vacuum relief valve is working so air can escape as panels fill. Manually open a high-point union briefly to purge trapped air if needed.
