Possible Causes
Blocked airflow around unit, Failed fan motor, High ambient temperature combined with poor ventilation, Tripped internal thermal protector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before clearing obstructions.
- Clear surroundings: Ensure at least the manufacturer‑recommended clearance (often 24–36 inches) around all sides and above the unit. Remove any covers or structures restricting airflow.
- Verify fan operation: Confirm the fan runs whenever the compressor is on. Repair or replace the fan motor or capacitor if not.
- Allow cool‑down: Let the unit sit powered off for 30–60 minutes to allow internal thermal protectors to reset, then restart.
- Persistent tH: If the error recurs quickly, have a technician check internal temperatures and thermal switches.
