Possible Causes
Pump not fully primed, Blocked skimmer or pump basket, Suction-side air leak, Variable-speed pump set too low for solar mode
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power to the pump before opening the pump lid or baskets.
- Clean baskets: Empty the skimmer and pump strainer baskets of leaves and debris to restore flow.
- Prime the pump: Fill the pump strainer housing with water, replace the lid with a lubricated O-ring, and restart the pump to achieve full prime.
- Check for air leaks: Inspect the pump lid O-ring, suction unions, and valves for bubbles or water drips. Tighten fittings and replace worn O-rings.
- Adjust pump speed: For variable-speed pumps, program a higher speed when solar is active to maintain adequate pressure and flow through the Heliocol panels.
- Verify water level: Ensure the pool water level is high enough to prevent air from being drawn into the skimmer.
