Possible Causes
Failed fan motor, Obstructed fan blade, Faulty fan capacitor (for AC motors), Broken fan motor wiring or connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and wait for the fan to stop completely before working near the blades.
- Inspect fan area: Remove any debris, leaves, or ice blocking the fan. Check that the fan blade spins freely by hand (with power off).
- Check for physical damage: Look for bent blades or signs of impact.
- Inspect wiring: Verify that the fan motor connector is firmly attached to the PCB or contactor and that wires are not burned or loose.
- Capacitor check (if applicable): On non‑inverter models with a run capacitor, a bulged or leaking capacitor should be replaced.
- Test run: Restore power and start the unit. If E14 returns and the fan does not run, the motor or its control circuit likely needs replacement.
