Possible Causes

Failed blower motor, Loose blower harness, Blocked blower wheel, Faulty control board blower output

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Do not reach into the blower with power connected.

  • Inspect blower wheel: Remove the front panel and visually inspect the blower wheel for debris, rust, or broken fins. Spin it by hand to ensure it moves freely.
  • Check wiring: Verify the blower motor plug is fully seated on the control board and that no wires are burned or pinched.
  • Listen for operation: Restore power and command heat. If the blower hums but does not start, the motor may be seized or failing and should be replaced.
  • If AO3 persists with a good blower: The control board may not be energizing the blower correctly. A technician should test voltage to the blower and replace the board if defective.
