Heater attempts to start but shuts down with E02; fan may run briefly but no flame is established.

Safety first: Turn off power and close the gas shutoff valve before removing the burner access panel. Allow the heater to cool completely.

• Verify gas supply: Confirm that the main gas valve to the Kripsol heater is fully open and that other gas appliances in the home operate normally. If you suspect low gas pressure, contact your gas supplier.
• Inspect ignition electrode: Remove the burner access panel. Locate the Kripsol ignition electrode assembly near the main burner. Check for cracks, heavy soot, or corrosion. Clean the tip gently with fine emery cloth and ensure the gap and position match the service manual specifications.
• Check flame sensor: Many Kripsol heaters use a combined igniter/flame rod. Clean the flame rod surface with a non-abrasive pad to remove oxidation. Ensure the ceramic insulator is not cracked.
• Inspect burner and injectors: Look for rust flakes, spider webs, or debris in the burner tray and gas injectors. Carefully vacuum debris and clear blocked ports with compressed air (do not enlarge injector orifices).
• Reassemble and test: Refit all panels, open the gas valve, restore power, and attempt to start the heater. If E02 persists, the ignition control module or gas valve may require professional diagnosis.
