Possible Causes
Seized or worn Kripsol combustion fan motor, Obstruction in fan wheel or housing, Loose fan wiring connector, Overheated fan motor thermal protector open
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and gas. Moving fan blades can cause injury; never work on the fan with power applied.
- Access the fan: Remove the top or side panel to reach the Kripsol combustion fan assembly.
- Check for free rotation: Spin the fan wheel by hand. It should rotate smoothly without grinding. If stiff or seized, the fan motor must be replaced.
- Clear obstructions: Look for debris, insulation, or insects inside the fan housing. Remove carefully without bending the blades.
- Inspect wiring: Verify that the fan’s power connector is fully seated on the Kripsol control board and that no wires are burnt or loose.
- Test operation: Restore power briefly and command heat while observing the fan. If it hums but does not start, or trips the breaker, replace the fan assembly.
