Possible Causes
Defective Kripsol ambient temperature sensor, Sensor cable damaged or disconnected, Sensor exposed to direct sunlight or non-ambient conditions, Control board sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before handling any sensor wiring.
- Locate ambient sensor: Find the Kripsol ambient/frost sensor, typically mounted on or near the heater casing away from direct heat.
- Inspect placement: Ensure the sensor is not touching hot metal surfaces or exposed to direct sun, which can cause false readings. Relocate slightly if necessary.
- Check wiring: Inspect the cable for cuts or rodent damage. Reseat the connector at the control board.
- Test sensor: Measure resistance at a known ambient temperature and compare to Kripsol’s NTC chart. Replace the sensor if readings are out of range.
- Control board check: If a new sensor does not clear E15, the board’s sensor input may be defective and require replacement.
