Possible Causes
Mismatched Kripsol NTC sensors (inlet vs outlet), Incorrect sensor type installed, Control board firmware not configured for installed sensors, Sensor wiring swapped
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before changing sensors or wiring.
- Verify sensor types: Check part numbers on the Kripsol inlet and outlet NTC sensors and confirm they match the heater’s parts list.
- Check wiring order: Ensure the inlet sensor is connected to the inlet terminals and the outlet sensor to the outlet terminals on the control board. Swap if they were reversed.
- Compare readings: With the heater off and water well mixed, inlet and outlet sensors should read nearly the same temperature. If one is significantly different, replace that sensor.
- Firmware/config: Some Kripsol models allow configuration of sensor type in the installer menu. Verify settings match the installed hardware.
- Board replacement: If all hardware is correct and E17 persists, the control board may be defective.
