Possible Causes

Kripsol flow switch jammed in closed position, Bypassed or shorted flow switch wiring, Control board detecting impossible flow conditions, Incorrect hydraulic installation

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before working on the flow switch or wiring. Do not permanently bypass safety switches.

  • Inspect flow switch: Locate the Kripsol flow switch on the water manifold. Remove it and check that the paddle or magnetic plunger moves freely. Clean any scale or debris.
  • Check wiring integrity: Ensure the flow switch wires are not shorted together. Remove any unauthorized jumpers that may have been installed to bypass the switch.
  • Hydraulic check: Confirm that the heater is installed in the correct position relative to the pump and filter, and that flow direction matches the arrows on the Kripsol manifold.
  • Test operation: With the pump off, the flow switch should be open (no continuity). With the pump on, it should close. Replace the switch if it does not change state correctly.
  • Reset and test: Restore power and verify that E18 clears and the heater responds normally to flow changes.
