Possible Causes
Failed combustion blower motor, Seized blower wheel, Faulty blower relay on control board, Blocked blower housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and gas. Moving parts and sharp metal edges can cause injury.
- Access blower: Remove the top or front panel to reach the Nirvana combustion blower assembly. Inspect for debris, nests, or rust buildup around the blower wheel.
- Spin test: Try rotating the blower wheel by hand (with power off). It should spin freely without grinding. If seized or noisy, the blower must be replaced.
- Check wiring: Inspect the blower motor harness and connector at the control board. Look for loose pins or heat damage.
- Operational test: Restore power (gas still off) and call for heat. Measure voltage at the blower motor terminals when the heater attempts to start. If voltage is present but the motor does not run, the motor is faulty. If no voltage, suspect the control board or safety interlocks.
- Replace blower: Install a new OEM Nirvana combustion blower if the motor or wheel is defective. Ensure all gaskets and seals are properly seated to prevent flue gas leaks.
