Possible Causes
Incorrect wiring to fireman’s switch terminals, Misconfigured automation heater type, Open external safety loop, Low-voltage polarity issues
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before working on low-voltage control wiring.
- Verify wiring: Check the low-voltage terminal strip on the Nirvana heater. Ensure the fireman’s switch or remote enable terminals are wired according to both the Nirvana and automation manuals.
- Automation settings: In the pool automation controller, confirm that the heater type is set to a compatible Nirvana gas heater profile and that setpoints are above water temperature.
- Bypass test: Temporarily jumper the remote enable terminals at the heater (if allowed by the manual). If the heater starts, the issue is in the external wiring or automation relay.
- Polarity and common: Ensure that any 24V control circuits share a common reference as required and that polarity is correct.
